Plus Size Videos from Gok Wan and Simply Be

Wondering who Gok Wan is? He's an astoundingly talented fashion consultant who's especially fun to follow for the plus-sized lady. If you love your stockings, corsets, bras, and hosiery to make you look trimmer and sexier when the clothes go on, he's the one to follow. His work has been featured on Simply Be and includes exciting pieces like the mini corset, shown below.

Even if you're not in the market for new lingerie at the moment, you can get plenty of inspiration from his upbeat attitude and interesting tips. Behold, here's why I love Gok!

1. Gok's got a great line available with Simply Be and with Dorothy Perkins, and is easily picked up here in the States via eBay or by a "trade" system with another blog. One blogger I am familiar with who reliably purchases things for out-of-UK-ers and sends them is Susie of Style Bubble. Pieces are vibrant, fitted, and stylish for the average woman.

2. Gok's written style books that have taken off (and are available on Amazon). Check out Amazon.com for his book How to Dress: Your Complete Style Guide for Every Location, which was published in October 2008.

3. He's really funny and puts everyone at ease. Are you at all surprised that Gok Wan has become a television personality on major networks? His most recent work on the television was his own style show called Miss Naked Beauty. It sounds a little scary to me, but it does make for a good watch. 4. He understands self-esteem issues and how to flatter all shapes. Judging from the videos above, Gok Wan knows how women often have a Love-Hate thing going on with their bodies. He really works with it, making us laugh and still feel good about an extra ounce (or two). Who says that naturally ample bosoms on a size 16 frame aren't sexy? Certainly not Gok!

5. Gok's a representative of a multicultural family. As a British Chinese man, it's great to see him leading the way in plus style. . . he adds a different perspective to fashion queries and adds a needed degree of diversity to the market!

6. There's something about him that's just... likable!
