Do You Shop Mostly Online?

What percentage of your shopping do you do online, versus in person? I'd say my online selections have reached 80-90% at this point, which can seem a little extreme until you check out how I do it! I always save with coupon codes and free shipping, so those hidden costs that sometimes deter people from buying online disappear. Since a lot of us are working more than one job right now and don't have a lot of time to spend browsing in the mall (and don't want the temptation, either), here is how I do it.

*Strike When the Price Is Right: I never wait when there are amazing deals to be had. When JCPenney has a $10 off a $10 purchase or more coupon out there, I buy a $10 shirt and have it shipped straight to the store for a little less than what it costs to ship to your home. If you live near a mall, you can definitely save with the coupon code and the clever use of shipping prices.

*Know the Deal Spots: Make a list of all the great places where you can get deals. Forever21, the Fifteen Dollar Store, and Payless are some of the best places to get deals, but there are also incredible mark-downs at other shops like Macy's, Dillard's, and Forever21. Let's just say that if you are in a pinch, you'll know exactly where to go.

*Play the Game Right: There are some shops that allow coupon code stacking for ultimate discounts, and others that don't. If you get your hands on a few great coupon deals, don't make yourself choose between them! Instead, layer things up and get shopping--Victoria's Secret is one amazing place to stack codes and save a ton on swimsuits, dresses, shirts, and jackets.

*Know Your Investments From Your Fling Buys: If you want to buy a piece that you love, be honest with yourself when using coupon codes. Sometimes, an expensive item simply isn't cheap enough to justify a trendy buy. When you know what will last for multiple seasons, you can buy something smart; if you set limits for a budget buy, you'll also be better off.

*Stay One Season Ahead: Buy pieces at the end of the season for the next year's season. At the end of summer, get things that will work well for the upcoming spring season for the following year. At the end of winter, look for basics that will transition well for next fall. Think about color palettes like brown, black, and plum, which are universally flattering.
