Plus-Size Spring Resources

As you know, I love shopping for plus-size looks, and I'm also dedicated to ferreting out new brands that are exciting, stylish, and affordable. Since fashion collections can vary from season to season, here are some of the best styles this year.

Kiyonnadresses

(at Kiyonna)

Carmakoma: This plus company recently opened a European showroom, and their styles are very cutting-edge. Their spring 2010 lookbook is filled with low-key colors and generous silhouettes with a hint of European detailing. We all need an updated look for spring, and these are great.

Kiyonna: Kiyonna's the store that always lips my mind at first pass, so I want to make sure that you don't forget about it like I do! This site stocks some great faux wrap silhouettes and jersey dresses. Their tank tops and wraps are divine and casual, and they definitely should have been on my "Park List" I made the other day! One of the great things about Kiyonna is their light color palette, which is a refreshing change-- try light green or jewel-tone purple.

Talbots: A simple place to get classics? Some of us forget about Talbots, but they have really upped their game recently. A boyfriend cardi and a high-waisted pair of pants? They've got it! A floral, classic frock or a tunic is a beautiful choice for spring, and it's easy to toss in the wash for the season.

One Stop Plus: Are you a fan of lingerie, especially the slinky kind? Spring's the time when your bra straps might show, and it's important to have some brand-new styles that look impeccable. The Bra Club from One Stop Plus means that you pick out five bras from any of the Redcats line (like Jessica London, Roamans, or Woman Within), and then you get a sixth bra for free (up to a $30 value).

Avenue: Avenue is a lovely place to shop for plus. They have some very diverse looks on the site for the more mature audience, but there's really something for everyone there. This year, they also have an excellent "Perfect Black Swimsuit" section that starts at the great price of $58.50.

Alicia Simone: Alicia Simone is a little-known player in the plus world, and is like a Filene's Basement of swimsuits for the generous-hipped. Take some time out of your schedule to scavenge through their site, and you could find a great deal on something to wear to the shore.
