Build Your Fall Plus-Size Wardrobe with Lane Bryant

Are you a size 14+ woman who's always on the search for hot looks? I've been checking out Lane Bryant recently, and they've really amped up their most recent collections for both work and play. Shapely jackets are perfect for curves, while skirts with the right accents are prime for pairing. Don't forget trendy, foil-accented shirts and dress-up-dress-down jackets for lower than $50.

Bright Tunic
A bright, girly tunic is perfect for any time of the year, but fall time always gets me down. If you are like me and need to find something, well, "Not Brown" for autumn-time, this is a nice item. It's available up to size 26/28 in this eye-popping magenta color.
Shaped Slub Knit Jacket
This is a good jacket for those of us with budget constraints. This coat can be worn open with a chiffon top and jeans for a casual look, or with a work skirt, a blouse, and heels for an equally successful style. Accessories will make the look unique as well, so try out long chain necklaces and bangles for instant after-work panache.
Foil Print Tee
T-shirts are a must-buy, and ones with some white are all the more versatile. This decorated tee can be worn when you're going out if you choose to use it with a waist-cinching belt to add shape. You can add a pair of stilettos for a supreme night look.
Pleated Sheer Halter
Speaking of going out, plus girls like a night on the town, too! So why are there so few options for all of us out there? This top will singlehandedly make your weekend better: this simple purchase can be dressed up with faux pearls and a skirt, or simply tossed over shorty shorts and wedges if you need it.
Little Black Ruched Sleeveless Dress
Everyone needs a little black dress, but sometimes you need an updated version. Look for dresses with a simple shape to last a few years: with a few LBDs, you can go to any party under the sun (or moon). T-strap heels will look grand with this Lane Bryant deal.
Classic Swing Coat
A work swing coat is a good investment, and a recommended buy for apple shapes. With a nice blouse underneath or a body-skimming camisole, you'll be all set to tackle meetings, presentations, and any other miscellaneous work events that might come your way.
Pin dot gored skirt
This is a successful choice for all those options I've been showing you for up top. It'll match with any work piece you have in black, and you can wear all your black blazers with it. A dot pattern on the skirt adds interest and makes your skirt look way more expensive as well.

Browsing Yoox.com-- What's New!

Neutrals are where I'm at right now-- don't ask me why, 'cause I'm usually a bright colors girl who just can't let go of her crazy, Hawaiian-inspired shifts and tunics, her '50s-style dresses and tops, and (of course) all those fantastic tank tops that are a dime a dozen. While I'm usually busy wreaking havoc on T.J. Maxx in person, after a slight sprain to the ankle, I'm back indoors for a while. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I'm busy enjoying all the neutrals stacked up at Yoox-- much more neatly than any T.J., and much more convenient to boot.

My Yoox.com picks were pretty straightforward-- or so I thought, until I started to really delve into the world of creams, tans, whites, and more! It's easy to pluck up basics and move on, but not when they're all interesting. These items from Yoox truly do carry a variety of inspiration, from delicate buttons all the way down to the hemline, to a deep-v dress in the finest of fabric, festooned with lace. Check out my choices, and then forage on your own. You'll soon see how hard it was to choose the right look!

SEE by Chloe Jacket
Yes, one of my first picks was a jacket! I know that that probably seems pretty darn weird, considering that we're still knee-deep in tank tops and skirts right now. But when a deal comes along, we must strike. . . my amazing coat of the day is this one by uber-feminine Chloe, which just happens to have plenty of feminine details.
Miu Miu 3/4 Length Dress
Costume National Silk Dress
These two dresses are so silky and sexy that they belong to stay close together on our site. If you're the type to seek out vintage details or slip-styled dresses, these are two of your best neutral choices over at Yoox. Designer pieces always mix in a surprise or two, and these are no different. Lots of lace, cool design details, and more await!

KristenseN Du Nord 3/4 Length Dress

Thissweet dress is the kind I'd imagine wearing when I hop on my bicycle and wizz through Amsterdam. Okay, it's probably a heck of a lot more realistic to imagine shopping at the local market, but I dream big. This tank-styled dress complete with sweet buttons is just a dream, so let's try pairing it with a Parisian hat for perfect balance.

Ken Scott 3/4 Length Dress

Ermanno Scervino V-Neck Dress

These are the kind of sophisticated dresses that I used to imagine only being able to wear when I reached a certain age. Wrong! Try these neutral beauties out and test the waters, and you'll be surprised. Make them look innocent with pearls or dangerous with a air of wedges from somewhere like TopShop, where they are debuting some seriously high-and-clunky wonders.

Cesare Fabbri Crepe Drape Dress

I'll admit it-- I always get apprehensive about this style of dress. Its a-line shape is so daunting, but at the same time, this is why I shop at Yoox-- to push myself to buy things that I usually wouldn't. I think it would look lovely with vintage earrings and boots, and that is why I love it.

EB Milano Tunic Dress
Evabranca Long-Sleeve Dress

These are the types of dresses you wear to Miami and rock out in utter sexiness. With all the options above, you really should give yourself some time to cut loose. . . how about with a tight dress in an equally cool color? Amazing with pumps or very possibly some jeweled sandals.

Yes, I am gushing over Yoox.com-- check it out and see for yourself.

Top Picks Round II: ShopBop

Today my featured fashion-forward shop will be. . . drumroll please: ShopBop! This great high-low mix of a shop is extremely fun even if you don't have a lot of cash (that's what Bop Basics are for!). When you're looking for a signature piece that's both funky and wearable, I really recommend ShopBop.

I've picked out some of my favorite summer pieces here, both ones that I've bought and ones that I plan to buy. Check them out to see what has really caught my eye this time!

Frye Amy High Heels
I chose these because, first and foremost, my vintage Frye Boots were my favorite shoes on the planet when I was in college and they wear like a demon. Despite the fact that I gave them away after yet another international move, their comfortable fit and their cool look stayed with me. You can have your Frye boots for winter and your sandals for summer now with these comfy options in a cool brown. They have a vaguely equestrian air which is pretty exciting along with a 3.5" stacked heel that actually looks comfortable!

Alkemie Large Flower Ring

This ring from Alkemie has an ultra-romantic feel that's really impressing me tonight! Normally I go for stackable rings in more basic designs, but sometimes you've got to just branch out and try new jewelry that perhaps you'd never dream of shopping for. This item caught my eye, and I'm willing to branch out and give it a try if that means having a new ring I adore! Plus, it has been constructed from reclaimed metal-- how cool is that?!

True Religion Billy Big T Jeans

These Billy Big T Jeans might be basic, but they have that essential cut and style that will undoubtedly lead to you stocking up on every pair around. For those wanting to try a new jeans brand or for budget-minded shoppers yearning to break out of their shell, this is the time. These jeans feature horseshoe stitching at the back pockets and a versatile dark blue wash. Must-have alert!

DKNY Spaghetti Strapped Dress

I'm going to do it: I'm planning on diving into the world of jumpers head-first. I've got my eyes on this Spaghetti Strapped Dress in a rather vibrant turquoise, which is sexy, stylish, and somehow pretty youthful all in one package. Bold colors stand out and add a touch of pizazz where you might not expect it: hanging out on the boardwalk in this slightly '80s piece with pearly gladiator sandals and a clutch. Divine!

C&C California Lace Dress

I really need to see this dress on a real persn to decide how much I love it. On ShopBop, it looks awesome (although it does take some getting used to): it's filmy, fun, white, and a little '70s. But I need to absolutely make sure that it doesn't have any nightgown vibes in white, which is why I'm going to have to buy it (oh, darn) and then try it on right away with a bunch of different belts as well.

Did you find anything exciting on ShopBop?
